Its the holidays!

Anyway, as you can probably guess, we gurls dont really have much of a hol HAHAHAHAHA
MY BIRTHDAY IS 4th NOV *HINT HINT*

Well, in this holiday, I personally resolve to get to know everyone in the section better, and all of you guys should too! To be honest, I still cant name everyone in the section as of now, but to avoid further embarrassment, I wont say who. Actually, if I can't name them then how can I possibly say who they are? HAHAHAHAHA I make so much sense.

And as part of getting to know everyone better, I shall make sure I hold a sustainable conversation with all of them. I'm making such an improvement! I talked to some of the juniors this week! This does not usually happen. ^^

Secondly, I resolve to borrow my clarinet back home at least once. Or make an effort to practise more in school, I guess.

shucks! I just realised how unachievable these resolutions are! ohkay nvm, I hereby scrap whatever I've typed so far. I shall just go with the flow and erm, follow my heart with things.

Anyway, I can't believe everyone borrows their instruments home T_T I felt like such a loser the other day!

our perfect section

jamie and me made up plans for our kids next year! :D hahaha.

1) they will come two and a half hour before/after every band prac:
-2h for warm ups
-half an hour for blow paper on wall thingy

warm up will consist of the following:
-long tones (16 counts each)
-leewei's fav articulation excercise (the torture one) in circle of fifths. instead of 4 counts each, play 8 counts.
-the fun articulation excercise in circle of fifths.
-symphonic band technique: everything. (they will play so many times they can memorise everything)
-ms leong's warm up

blow paper on wall:
-they will stand in one line and blow the paper onto the wall for half an hour. by one month, they should be able to make the paper stay on the wall for 1min.

2) they will stay have sectionals every day for 4hours. and we wont need to be there coz they are disciplined and guai enough to conduct their own sectionals and be trusted not to slack.

3) they will always be in tune, anywhere and anytime. we will save the money needed for tuners to buy reeds (coz they play so long reeds get worn out faster). their sound will all be the same because they play with each other for a few hours everyday.

4) they will pay to the section fund per week (and will not complain). the section fund will be used to buy more reeds and better/more instruments. there will be another bobby and another sophia! :D yay.

muahahaha.

oh and have i mentioned the circle of fifths is in harmonic and melodic minor scales too. we must do alot of circle of fifths! :D

YAY tmr band prac again! :D

omg choir and handbell and drama and idk who else's 110th full dress reharsal is like tues? arghh so soon! means ours will be too. how can! we dont even know what pieces we are playing (okay maybe asian and singapura suite) and we havent even run through the whole thing seniors only. we dont even have singapura suite photocopied scores.

i bet in the end we also wont perform. okay whatever.

yah yah i agree with cla's plans in making great use of the school's space! :D the least we should get is like another room lorh. we are not like the other ccas which can prac anywhere. okay fine we can but not as a whole band unless you want us to move all our stuff to the courtyard or whereever which takes a million years then people will complain. i dont see anyone complaining when the choirs sing -.- since they cant appreciate our great music (unlike guides! :D) they should give us another room to lock ourselves in.

and you know even my pri sch which is damn small has a store room for band. hahah fine but they gave band like, everyone a tuner each and a thousand other stuff so i think they are biased to band. which also doesnt make sense coz band got like silver since dinosaurs were there and there's other ccas like chinese dance which gets gwh. i think we should get a store room too! :D

okay i feel very mean and greedy coz handbells dont even have any room they have to prac in room99/100. so we should be grateful for what we have and be contended. there are other people less fortunate in the world.

but i still want another band room D:

anyway it's common knowledge that band needs more space and stuff and money. coz our instrus damn ex. handbells can like, set up their table anywhere in the school anyway not like they need a huge room to prac. the full handbells probably need like 1/4 the space we do. and string ensemble also (supposed to be) very big but our school's is er.. a bit on the small side. so conclusion: band needs more space.

not like dance needs so much space lah. it's like, why they need 3 dance studios?! yes i know dance is a heritage of our school or whatever crap -.- -.- and you know the bear souveniers (WHICH MY CLASS IS SELLING FOR CIP PLEASE SUPPORT THANK YOU) there's like 5: sc uniform, sc sec pe, sc pri pe, nonya and dance. what is dance doing there lah! they might as well put a bear playing clarinet (or any other band instru is okay :D). or even choir, drama, handbells, etc. or sports also can! hahaha.

btw, band is the coolest and awesomest cca. like we are in 2 cca groups! ug and performing arts.

and we are practising so hard it's also for the school right? to make the school proud :D they should give us what we need so that we will do even better.

ehh i just wanna say that all those people who seriously wanna go japan, please pray damn damn damn hard! doesnt matter whether you're christian, buddhist, free thinker or wadeva, JUST PRAY!

if you notice, normally mr tee would annouce those important stuff regarding band on our first band prac after a major break right, and as you can see, that prac was actually supposed to be last week. and since band has been cancelled for another week, its kinda a sign that mr tee will definitely tell us about our japan trip once we return for band. hence, since God is buying us time, i think we should all just PRAY for the best and that we get tto go to japan for our band trip :)

i find myself agreeing with cla totally! ( except for the sectionals room and you being president) ( cos it obviously wont happen) ( HAHAHAHA) ( ok sry cla im joking)

first i'll like to say that YES. DANCE FREAKING HAS THEIR OWN TOILET. BEEN IN THERE BEFORE. annoying pieces of shit. wtf lah. why do they even need their own toilets?! hello we're the ones who need it more can. dance can just open their french windows and pop into the toilet at the bus bay already. but NO. they cant hold their pee for that long so they need a toilet of their own! and if im not wrong, its bigger than the bus bay toilet. so bandits who need to wash their mouthpieces and wash their own saliva-coated bandroom need to go all the way to the bus bay just to get water. i bet dance dont even clean their dance studio themselves wth.

just cos they've got a Head of Dance means they can have two dance studios, one changing room and one storeroom??!!! what crap is that man. and their one dance studio is already much bigger than our one bandroom thanks alot. and please dont forget, other than the ones in the secondary side, the primary school hall also has one. ( btw, cla open your eyes bigger kae?)

secondly, more room for band. definitely! everytime dance needs space they get it. ( well they already have all of it anw) so we bandits are thrown all over the school. and get chased away by everyone with that " you're such a nuisance" tone whenever we're apparently distrupting some kind of event. if they cant stand us making so much music in their face, why not just give us more soundproof rooms for us to prac? so that they can save their energy chasing us away.

next, the lifts. yeah of course. if the school doesnt want to waste money specifically on us, they can at least build a freaking lift somewhere near the bandroom instead of 98765432123456789 km away. and yes, rgps has lifts.

next. the storeroom. if you've been to amk's bandroom, or any other school's bandroom, they'll definitely have a storeroom. and they have proper libraries unlike ours. and their storeroom is neat and huge. and they've enough space to put their bags somewhere. unlike us with overflowing podiums. and their bandrooms are properly soundproof and carpeted. ( and btw amk's bandroom is PURPLE! WAHAHAHAHA!) ( sry digression)

finally, sectionals room. it'll be simply impossible. the school wouldnt even give a thought on it.

dearies...our school has never had a good history for band, you all would know that. thats why everything is always dance dance dance. never band. no. we dont suck. just that its always dance that is more breathtaking. more interesting. more entertaining. more happy. more smiley faces. than band. thats why. but please know this. if you were a dancer, you'd be like that too. you wouldnt know how other ccas feel about dance always being choosen for everything. you'd just be happy about being a dancer.

thats what it was like in rg. band was the " most desired " cca. we were involved in almost everything . when your friends know that you're in band, they'll be in awe. when you perform yourself, you'll feel great. like you're on the top of the world. you'd never stop to wonder how other ccas felt. but this was in primary school. it was different. no one actually hated their own cca or anything, cos people were changing ccas every year -.- or terms -.- im serious. but the thing was that whenever band was asked to perform for speech day and concerts, every other performing arts cca would be asked to perform as well. the bronze or silver or gold made no difference.

what im trying to say is that...its not a thing between our ccas, but its cos of our school. and a certain someone. you know who. well inspite of everything, we've got each other :) and thats one thing i think dance doesnt have.

ok hi people. i have a plan. a very brilliant plan. i mean after all its me. the awesome me. so its brilliant like duh. ok i should really learn to talk without side-tracking. hahahaa. ok whatever.

anyway, you know in the school lobby. there are these green boards and on one board they put photos and achievements of the performing arts in syf. and they have ALL the performing arts except drama and band! :@:@:@:@:@

oh and you know wth. even chinese drama which got a silver is up there! omg. why not band????? i mean, other then international dance, we are on par, or even better than the other performing arts! goshhh.

ok whatever. anw on friday/thursday, i just realised that there are TWO dance studios.

actually i have been to the second dance studio before in primary school, but i just forgot all about it la. and wth, they have a dressing room too. oh and not to forget, a storeroom. and vicki said they have their own toilets (????????). ok i dunno abt the toilet thing. so i shall think that they dun have.

the first qn i want to ask is why do dance have 2 dance studios?????????

do they have sectionals like us? (no.) is their main studio already bigger than our band room? (yes.) do they have instruments like us? (no. ok i know they have props and costumes blablabla BUT DUN FORGET THEY HAVE A FREAKING STOREROOM.)

then why why why do we not have our own storeroom (to store our instruments or sth), our own dressing room (ok actually i think we dun need it but i just like whinning ok.), or 2 bandrooms???

in additional to those mentioned above, i would like to request for our own private lift too (hahaha.) which i will explain why later on (:

2 band rooms

ok you see. we have junior band AND senior band. and obviously, and as we all know, BOTH OF US CLASH WHEN WE HAVE BAND PRACS TOGETHER. so when seniors have combine, the juniors MUST have sectionals (unless they go somewhere else like LT or sth which is completely retarded and a waste of time and effort). and when juniors have combine, the seniors MUST go for sectionals too.

OMG SICKENING.

so that equates to = senior band and junior band CANNOT have combine together

ok now u may ask: whats the point of having both the junior and senior band have combine together???

point 1: combines are funner. i know theres no such word but whatever.

point 2: this disallows totally unnecessary sectionals which will just simply result to an overdose of slacking which makes each individual even slacker and then she will just tend to slack more during the next sectional blablabla and yeah, the vicious cycle goes on. (i know i slack too. thats the point why im saying this.)

point 3: remember last time KDS made us carry 83246823658232 chairs up to the LT then carry them down again???? oh and not to forget 9274383264 stands too (:

gosh that was really really very pissing. i mean, WHATS WRONG WITH THE CHAIRS IN THE LT??? gosh fat people have fat issues. (oops sorry, i did not type that. just a technical glitch :D of course i didnt. im so nice)

and yea i know, we only have band pracs together once a week. but u see, during thursdays and tuesdays we can split up into 2 grps- brass and woodwinds and have our brass/woodwinds sectionals! :D:D:D hah. brilliant right.

in conclusion: having 2 bandrooms is much more convenient and dance do not need so much space.

our own store room

hah. i mean anyone from band will agree that having our own storeroom will make our (band) lives better ;) u see, in the storeroom, we can have our pretty library and store our pretty instruments too.

ok i know the storeroom will be hell if we all go in together to get our instruments. BUT HELLO WE ARE PEOPLE WITH BRAINS. of course we will know how to moderate ourselves like duh.

and after we have our storeroom, we can clear the shelves and our bandroom will be bigger too yay! ohohoh i forgot to add, our storeroom should also be pretty big so that we can store our bags in there too! HAHAHA. then the podiums can be cleared too since bt dun really like it anw. and yay! even bigger band room! HAH IM AWESOME.

this may sound ridiculous, but its completely necessary. (anw rgps has it right right right???) LOOK AT THE GREAT PAINS WE TAKE TO CARRY PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS TO THE KA. ITS LIKE MURDER.

oh and you know what i think each section should have? each sectional should each have their own sectional room too ;) like maybe each sectional room can be the size of let's say, 1/3 of a music room or sth? ;) (but of course clarinets need a bigger space. im not being biased or sth but anyone can tell we really NEED it)

we have abt 8/9/10 sections altogether right. so we just need like 3 music rooms(HAHAHA im not a greedy person). and percussion can have sectionals in the band roomS. but by then, its okay for them even if they need to shift upstairs to their own sec rooms(provided they have one too and the sec rooms are UPSTAIRS), cos we have LIFTS :D

ok if ur wondering about the space issue since scgs is so freaking small, and that there is only like 2 music rooms (?) and choir and whatever need them, FRET NOT. COS BRILLIANT ME HAVE A BRILLIANT PLAN. we can always have a basement level! and yea for bandits to go basement to go to their sec rooms, we can just use our private lift! HAH u see my plan is so awesome right i know.

oh and obviously each room have to be sound-proof if not we can hear one another and sectionals wont be productive duh.

with our own sectional rooms, we wont have to fight with one another over where to have sectionals blablabla anymore. so everyone will be happy. yay. and when the sch have some dumb shit like meet the parents session, we will have no issues. so everyone is happy too. yay.

and of course, being happy people, sectionals will be productive. esp since we have AIR-CON in our sectional rooms too (i know im always talking abt global warming blablabla but whatever. install energy-saving aircon la.).

and with productive sectionals, we will do better during combine (and syf haha). and bt will be happy. and that makes us happy. and we will do well for our next (and subsequent) syf. and we will be even happier. then mrs low will be happie too. then she will upgrade band even more. ah then we will be even even happier.

then we will improve more and the cycle repeats itself.

in conclusion: everyone will be happier if i rule the world. so vote me for president thanks.

anyway, since its my first post here, its gonna be special (: im going to educate everyone on the greatness of the clarinet instead of injecting random stuff anyhow, which i will be doing in subsequent posts. (i know that its already a well-known fact that the clarinet is great. but u know, stupid people do exist)

anw, for those who do not noe how a clarinet looks like, i shall try to erm, patiently explain to u now. but before that, i would like to advise u to GO DIG YOUR FREAKING BRAINS OUT. what have u been doing ur past life NOT knowing how such an awesome instrument look like!

but anyway, to not let u continue living ur life in vain, i will educate u on this beautiful thing. (okok fine i know everyone reading this will know how a clarinet looks like since it seems like only our section is coming here, making whatever im going to say REDUNDANT. but whatever, i like bullshitting ok.)

ok to start off, i would like to say the clarinet is black.

and since u don't know how a clarinet looks like, i reckon that ur IQ is like a ridiculous low of 40. thats why i assumed that u dunno how blackkkkkkkkkkkkkkk looks like and thats the exact reason why i made the word "black" black. see how much i look down on u TSK. shame on you.

okok fine i shall stop crapping and get to the point!

and for the past 0.5 seconds, i have decided that to make things a little easier for me here, i shall just CUT THE CRAP AND POST A FREAKING PICTURE OF A CLARINET HERE.

ok yes, this is how the awesome instrument looks like.

okok fine! i noe this is just PART of the clarinet! but i just find this picture pretty ok. and since u dunno how it looks like u should already go bang ur head against the wall. but instead of doing that to u or reporting u to the police for criminalish stupidy (or both), i have nicely decided to post that picture up for u. and u noe blogger upload sucks. so my point? i am nice and forgiving.

ok so the NEXT part of cla's awesome lesson of how great the clarinet is and if u don't think so u should die, is: why it is so great.

in case ur thinking that the next part will just be another shitload of my crap like the above, i would like to say whatever. just read on! :D

truth #1: the trumpets are technically err, the clarinets' enemies.

truth #2: we are awesomer than them.

truth #3: we are gonna take over the band! (YESSSSS! :D)

urban definition of a clarinet:

1. The woodwind version of a trumpet(as far as parts are concerned).

2. Proof that God cares about us.

3. God's own instrument.

4. The most dedicated section in band.

5. Something only intelligent people are capable of playing.

6. Rival of the flute section in marching band, and secretly plan to take over the woodwind section after the flute line is demolished.

and being the ahem, good history student i am, i would like to cite support and give examples if u still don't believe me.

Ex. 1

Trumpet Player 1: The clarinets are playing our part better than we are.

Trumpet Player 2: I know, maybe we should switch.

Ex. 2

Devil: To torture these poor mortals I'll create the trumpet.

God: To show mercy on these people, I'll create an instrument that is the most heavenly of all. I'll call it a clarinet.

Ex. 3

Minister praying: God, what instrument do you play?

God: My servant, I play the clarinet.

Ex 4.

Clarinetist: I think I should practice till my lips bleed, so I can mske All-State.

Ex 5.

Trumpet Player: I got an 850 on my SAT and I play trumpet.

Clarinet Player: I got a perfect 2400, and I Play clarinet.

Ex 6.

Flute Section Leader: Ok flutes, we have to step up our game, against those clarinet players. They're kicking our ass on the field.

Clarinet Section Leader: Clarinets, yall have nothing to worry about. Now when practice is over, remember where we hid our mace, tar and feathers, and assume positions. Then we'll take over the marching band, and then the world...mwahahahahahahhaahahhahahah.

conclusion? the clarinet is awesome and is a piece of evidence to show that God loves us.
